Unknown coral

Got this coral from the distributor about 6 months back he told me he sent pictures to his marine biologist buddies and they all couldn't properly ID it. If someone here could help me ID it that would be great because I own it now. If not, just enjoy grainy photography of my beautiful coral.

Also if it helps at all the ball has a flat bottom like a dome and it is about 6 inches across in diameter.

He said it couldn't be because of the way it laid its skeleton it is in an urchin like ball with spikes when you remove it from water
