Hi guys, I just noticed this in the glass of my tank.

Does anyone knows what is this? Is it dangerous?

It has like starfish shape.. I never seen this in my tank.

looks like an asterina starfish. Is it clear/see-through? If so, not an asterina and maybe a hydroid of some sort.

I believe it was hiding in the rock of my zoas. I believe is asterina starfish. Should I take it out? Are they harmful?

I googled hydroid and it doesn’t look like it.

Thank you!

Some are peaceful and good grazers. But some eat zoanthids or other similar corals. If you found it on a zoanthid frag, I would remove it out of caution. They are slow moving, easy to catch and do not sting/bite.

I will take them out if I see any attacking or eating my corals :), especially zoas, I love them.

Thank you so much!

With a net, grab the asterina and discard. They multiply like mice and will eventually mow down your zoa
