I’ve been looking at tanks to consolidate a couple of my nanos and also potentially to replace my Red Sea before my seems give out (plus I want to be able to get more tangs). Probably replace my Red Sea first (and upgrade it to a larger tank at the same time 😂). I was looking at Waterbox and UNS. I kind of like the style of UNS and their magnetic panels (I hate the hinges most of the companies have on their stands). Hoping to upgrade this fall maybe spring, but want some time to plan. Anyone with experience with UNS tanks have any feedback on their ease of set up and quality?

I got my UNS R90 in March and absolutely love it. Everything is very high quality, I found setup to be really straightforward and no problem at all, and UNS support is really good plus they have some people on here (@UNS_Brandon @UNS_Parker)

Morning.

My Redsea 525XL seam failed after six years, I decided to go UNS about a month ago.

So far I absolutely love the tank. All aluminum frame (Super heavy duty compared to the garbage particle board ones), crystal clear glass, very well made. Customer service was amazing and easy to reach. The only issue I had was some of the rubber pads for the doors fell off due to the heat and having it in my hot, Central valley California garage for a day. I texted Parker, he sent me a bag with some new ones within a few days.

How’s the sump in terms of workable space? Like skimmer, reactors, etc? Looks like you have a lot in there.

The sumps good, all the chambers have adjustable weirs to adjust water levels, glass is all bevelled and smooth so no knicks. Really the only downside to under the tank is there is no back wall to mount things. So you have to get creative. But I have a skimmer, Santa Monica Algae reactor, carbon reactor, return pump as well as lots of biological media in there and didn't have any problem fitting it. Mine is the bigger tank also though, so if you're wanting a 90, I would check with @commod0re for that. I believe the 90 is too small for the 500 Roller Mat, you have to get the 250 I think.

Yeah reefmat 250 for R90 or a dual-unit Nature Dimensions N-Clear M is what I’m planning to put in mine

Decent amount of room down there, I have an oversize skimmer (nyos quantum 160), rocks and sand, return pump, several probes, dosers, dosing containers, the included ATO, and still have room for more. Not all of my electronics fit in the electronics section is my one real challenge lol

I’m actually looking at the 180.
