Anyone have any advice on getting rid of unwanted zoas from rocks? I started picking them off the rocks here and there but they just end up expelling some waste. Not sure if there’s an easier way. Reason I want to get rid of them is that they are starting to grow on the bases of some of my sps corals and they are shading them a bit. I have tried to chisel pieces off but some of my corals have based off onto the rocks so it’s not really an option. Read somewhere to inject the zoas and run carbon

you could use a razor blade to remove and toss them. Wear gloves and run carbon, zoas can contain dangerous palytoxin which they can release when damaged or stressed.

DO YOU THINK TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS ARE MORE HELPFUL OR HURTFUL TO REEFING?
