Hello all.
Just a little update on my 15 gallon hello reef tank. It’s cycled about a week ago. Despite the hello reef app telling me to have the lights on for 50% for the period of the cycle I had it on about 2% mainly so I could watch it when I was working as even an empty tank is more interesting than work. The water readings are
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 2/3
Salinity - 35
Temp - 78.8.
The tank didn’t get algae or any sort of diatoms. A slight film on the inside of the glass which I cleaned with the magnet. Despite the hello reef app saying add clean up crew first I haven’t as there really is nothing to clean up as far as I can see. I went to a fish store yesterday (blue ribbon koi and maribe )and they suggested no clean up crew but a couple of small fish. I bought two clown fish and brought them home like a new father. Drip acclimated them and add them to the tank. They don’t keep still. Lights off till this morning and them some crushed pellet as they are tiny. I bought some frozen mysis shrimp but again they seem too big. I also turned off the wave maker as I was worried they would get in it but Also they seemed to be struggling with the current. The return pump seems to be providing enough flow for now. They seem to be very happy. Any advice now apart from monitor parameters and watch them. Also on best food for these little guys.
