I've had a lot of people asking me about the progress of this chalice, so I thought I would share some updated pics here. It's been settling in nicely in my tank over the last month and a half. I haven't really touched it at all and I've just been letting it recover and color up. It continues to impress me and I'm enjoying watching it develop. Not sure if the Ironman name will stick, given the blue developing around the eyes and the somewhat purplish color it embues, but it's purdy either way.

Just got around to taking some more shots. It's fairly well settled in, but still in the process of coloring up; doing some interesting things. I look forward to seeing how the colors continue to develop. It's already showing some noticeable growth around the rim, which is encouraging. So, after just over a month in captivity here it is again.

As you can see there has been a lot of development of bluish pigments around the corallites, lending a sort of overall purplish hue to some areas. It seems like the areas that are getting more shade have a stronger burgundy/red tone to them, while the areas in brighter light have gotten more blue pigments in them. Due to the growth of the rim and the angle I had the colony at (laying flat until a little over a week ago), the edge had actually grown down and out of site, so the yellow rim isn't visible everywhere. I adjusted the angle the colony was sitting at and it seems to be reaching back outwards and becoming more visible again. I think without anything solid underneath it, and being at a new angle from what it had been growing at, the edges were tending to sink down, but now that I have the whole colony angled it seems to be coming back outwards. I'm pretty excited to see what this piece continues to do over the next year!

Thanks guys, I had meant to include this, but here in the pic of when it first arrived. It was a lot more solid red and yellow when I first got it, but I'm liking the blue highlights around the eyes.

That's the Raspberry BubbleYum Chalice he just fragged up and was selling in his other thread. Not sure if he has frags left but you might want to ask.

is it from Aussie's ? Spectacular piece for sure especially with the rim color.
