UPS problems

I have a sicce 1.5 hooked up to a budget ups($100), standard what you'd see in walmart. When you simulate a power outage, the pump wont stay on. It takes 12v7ah sealed lead acid batteries. Which I buy cases of regularly for work, so it's not a battery issue. I have the same type of UPS for my internet & tv in both my bedroom/living room, both run all of that flawlessly. Any ideas on troubleshooting?

It is likely putting out a square wave and not suitable for running the sicce. I assume the motor hums or vibrates.

Had to google this makes sense I guess,🧐

It is a simplified, cost-effective, but less efficient way to create 120V power, often used in budget inverters, UPS systems, and for powering basic resistive loads"

"A 120V square wave (or modified sine wave) inverter often fails to run pumps because AC motors require a smooth sine wave to operate properly. Square waves produce harmonic distortion and high peak voltages, leading to excessive heat, motor stalling, or failure to start due to high inductive load requirements."
