Due to miss reading instructions I overdosed my 275 ltr with red sea NO3: PO4-X it should have been 3ml, and i put in 100ml, this was done last night, this morning I woke up to a milky tank, I think this was the bacteria blooming, correct me if im wrong, as im very new to reef keeping, and ive spent the day with my head in books and on the internet.

I upped the protein skimmer to max, i put in to waver makers to oxygenate the water, my PH Dropped like a brick, so i used some buffer, to start to bring it up, its a bit clearer tonight but I have lost all my cleaner snails, some of my soft corals have taken a bashing, I donot have a second tank set up to move them, and there is not a local shop, that can take them. any advise please. Big lesson learnt read and re-read and make sure i understand.
many thanks
Dave

Only thing to do is a big water change. Lastly you could set up a temporary tank with freshly mixed saltwater. Use a 5 gallon bucket or Rubbermaid storage tote or brute trash can. I'd only use a brand new one for any of the above. Add a power head and air stone.

This setup has its own issues and it will be a shift in parameters for corals but if you acclimate them first you might be ok.

Any fish? What's your other live stock?

I'm not an expert but my 2 cents. Wait and see if others agree.

Awesome ty. Remember alway triple check yourself, only way to be safe. I read instructions. Calculate dose, reread instructions, recheck calc. And do it one more time if i think i have it right i go. Again good luck cant wait to hear update.

I did something similar just the other day with a PH buffer. Couldn't see the instruction the writing was so small, and my eyes not as good as they once were. Got to read and re-read instruction. Then read them again just for good measure.

UPDATE
The fist thing I actually had to do was calm down, and stop panicking, that in its self stops you from thinking straight. ok, to recap I put in 100ml instead of 3ml
of the Red Sea product nopox into a 109 litre tank at about 10.30 at night, I found the tank at 9.00 looking a very milky white, and I could just notice two dead turbo snail, and all my coral closed up, after some rapid research, I believe what I had done ( please correct me if you feel i am not, as I am a real newbie) was to cause a bacteria bloom, as well as crash the PH, to somewhere around 7.8. I felt I had to limit the shock to the tank and not cause any more, by totally re-adjusting everything in an instance, so this is the sequence: rightly or wrongly:
10.45 am Cranked the skimmer up to full, (to wet skim) as well as a small water change. ( I did not have any spare RO water)
lifted the wave maker, and put a second unit in to create surface movement, to get as much bubble popping as i could, I also put in some PH buffer, to start raising the PH slowly.
I now grabbed my car keys and headed for the motorway, to drive to the nearest shop that sold RO water, ect
It was at this point I realised I was still running around like a chicken without a head, and as i approached, the motorway slip road, I can re call repeating what I needed to do, and in what order I was going to do it, ( if I did not do this I would have crashed the car)
any way at last thinking straight- I purchased some Live Bacteria for saltwater, RO water, a small skimmer and my own RO/DO unit.
3.30pm introduced 10 bacteria balls into the tank, and managed to get the second skimmer going.
I decided at that point to back off and let all what i had done settle for the day.
the following day (yesterday) tank had almost cleared, so I reduced the waver makers back down to one, undertook a large water change.
last light i put some more PH Buffer in.
this morning, tank is clear, my Rose tip Anemone is out in full, as well as all my other corals, I have not tested the water yet,
so total lose today x2 turbo snails.
