Hey fellow reefers,

I’ve had my KH Director for a month and am starting to trust it enough to control my alkalinity.

Since I have only one dosing head available on my Maxidoser, is Carbocalcium appropriate to use to adjust alkalinity? I have the KHD set to test 4x/day.

Currently, I use kalkwasser and a calcium reactor to maintain Ca/alk levels. So the adjustments will be small.

That’s a little tricky as the alk does not get added instantly with that product. At a steady state it will likely work, but at a time when you need a boost, you can dose all you want and may not see an alk rise for an hour or more, thus you might overdose by a wide margin.

Thanks Randy. That is what I was worried about...stacking alk doses and over shooting my target.
