Use of Copper in the Supply Chain.

In order to try and decide why some think there is a high percentage of disease/parasites now as compared to years past - I decided to check with several LFS and a couple large shippers - If you own an LFS - or have data concerning what copper (if any) your LFS (or wholesaler uses) Please answer. And Only 'Documented' - i.e. researched with the source - not assumptions... If you have talked to 3 LFS for example and they all use therapeutic copper in all their tanks - put that in the comments. Same for the other choices.

3/3 LFS contacted in this area use only therapeutic copper 2 in all tanks 1 only for QT/therapy

I have one LFS that runs therapeutic copper in all fish systems.

Another LFS that uses copper in QT.

I am familiar with several of the wholesalers but I honestly have no idea what their processes consist of.

I do know one of the larger LA wholesalers has a "sick tank" where they treat fish that aren't fit to ship. I have no idea what they treat with or for how long.

I only go to 2 LFS in my area, there are many but these 2 I trust. Both use therapeutic copper in their fish only systems, with the exception of Wrasses, which I buy the most of. Their Wrasses go into their coral systems.
