I'm moving in 9 months and figured it would be easier to get a new tank and set it up in the new house before moving my Livestock.

I'm looking to pick up a 120g, plumbed with a stand. What is a good price for a second hand tank. This guy offered me $400 without any Livestock. Is that overpaying for something like this?

I have some time to shop around so I don't have to pull the trigger now.

With lights ,fish, corals & "all" the equipment, sump ? Maybe reefer, all depends on the quality of the equipment .

Ya. FYI, i live in Connecticut. A new 120 undrilled is $440, drilled is $600... I use the prices on a new tank to determine what kind of deal Im getting. As stated above, all depends on quality of equipment and condition.

And judging by the healthy cyano in that pic, the guy may not have adequate filtration. Regardless, for a tank and stand it doesnt seem bad.

Thanks for the insight guys. I might wait a bit and see if anything else comes up. I will take a look at some LFS near me and see what they can do new for me.

I was probably going to upgrade the filtration anyways, I am mostly looking for a drilled 120 with stand. The rest is pretty much optional.

I bought a 30g for $700. 24" T5 hybrid,xr15 radion, reef octopus 150 skimmer, trigger 30 ruby sump, and kessil h80 fuge light. Plus all the rock, livestock, and misc. tank related stuff.
So a good price really depends on the equipment your getting.

I picked up a used 120 for $450

It had 180 lbs live rock
Good skimmer
8 light t5 fixture with bulbs.
Beat up ugly stand

And a bunch of other junk that I won’t use.
I think I paid too much.
