Using a basic reactor as a Co2 scrubber, and solenoid options...?

I have this AquaMaxx Reactor just sitting around:

I should be able to use this with the appropriate media, yes? I'd also like to control the air line via the Apex. Do you guys like the Neptune SV-1 solenoid or is there another I should look into? Thanks

The reactor will work fine as a CO2 scrubber.

When I ran this setup, I would get excess moisture at the bottom of the media canister. It wasn't foam from the skimmer, just a collection of moisture from high humidity. That moisture would bubble somewhat if it was high enough to touch the media, but it was minimal... If your reactor is...

I ended up going this route. Although eventually I gave up on Neptune Systems and went with GHL
