Using Chemi-clean for the first time ever.

so I apologize for hijacking this thread but i am now 1 month out of using chemi clean. Nutrients normal and balanced and xoral and fish seem fine. I even noticed that my hair algae substantially decreased though that may not be attributed to the CC.

Curious how Sophie’s mom and Randy made out post chemi clean?

My after action summary is that it was slower than expected (took several days to really be clearly working), but cyano was ultimately eradicated and has not noticeably returned to the display. I'm quite happy with that.

It may or may not have been the nail in the coffin of my long unhappy magnifica anemone.

Nothing else changed.

Hey there! Don't know about How Randy is doing, but mine cleared right up with the Chemi Clean! My only weird thing was it took a LONG TIME to be able to turn my HOB skimmer back on. It would immediately begin to overflow every time I tried for a few weeks! But, after changing out my activated charcoal a few times, and a good water change, I finally got it back up and running. If you have a skimmer in a sump, this is not a problem, but for a HOB, it is a pain that requires babysitting.

Aww, sorry to hear about your magnifica! That sucks.

FWIW, my Tunze skimmer was good to go pretty much right away. It took off a couple of gallons and then was back to normal operation.

cool! Mine took 2 weeks to stop overflowing. I also lowered the sump water line and that helped.
