This is my observation over the last month or so I’m just winging it here.
I have been adding SPS to my system and I increased flow dramatically in my tank. Coincidentally my fish that were picking on each other now just swim during the higher flow rates. When the flow drops to calmer times the fish seem to get feisty again.
I’m new to having coral and never had these high flow rates before. But the high rates do seem to give the fish other things to do... Survive or just swim? Once the fish get used to the higher flow will they return to aggressive behavior?

Perhaps others that have been doing this a while can provide their insight on this.

Higher flow is great for almost all fish. I have noticed them behave better and appear healthier after upping my flow on an old system.

@Abhishek has this documented a bit in his build thread located here. Looks like it hasn't been updated in a bit but if you go through the thread and watch some of the videos you'll see the insane flow basically pushing the fish around so much they couldn't bully anyone even if they wanted to!

Thanks, on this sight it’s tough to look through every build and video. Hoping more data is out there though.

I've seen it commonly recommended for reducing killing between chromis in large groups. Maybe you have a point!
