Anyone have ideas about how to continue to use a pop email client with gmail? Seems they are going to try to cut off most clients, so that you have to use the webmail.

What is your goal with using pop? My understanding is you can get it to work but you have to turn off alot of security features to get it to work. I think you could use Outlook with IMAP.

Gmail.com (Google Mail) IMAP Serverimap.gmail.com
IMAP port993
IMAP securitySSL
IMAP usernameYour full email address
IMAP passwordYour Gmail.com password

I have an old outlook, and have moved to a freeware version of Thunderbird, but now google sends a notice that the settings will soon stop working. So the goal is just to keep using the client for pop and hopefully also for outgoing smtp.
