Just upgraded tanks and came with giant sump. Need to get an upgraded sized uv but looking for best place to mount it. Plumbing it inline would be more difficult without changing a lot. Look at AQ 25w so probably need around 26in of space for maintenance. Any ideas?? Right side I will use for dosers. I could probably use left side would just have a longer tubing line. Don’t really want to mount on outside sides of stand. Thanks for ideas!

In order for a uv for be effective down in the sump. It should draw from the return chamber and return to the return chamber.

In my other tank I have it a different way. It gets drawn from the skimmer chamber and returned to the baffle right before the return chamber. That way the same water isn’t being sterilized. I had issues going return to return with my ato. Would this not make sense too?

Could draw that way too. I’m not a fan of chamber hopping though as it can throw off the natural pull of water through each baffle of the sump leading to stale spots if your pushing enough gph through the UV. If you have a ato that is being thrown off don’t need to draw from return, the skimmer works to but would worry too much about resterilizing. If your pushing good tank turnover. Just make sure the out let of the uv is down stream.

Check out the Vecton Titan 850. It is a 27W UV and has the smallest form factor of any of the sterilizers of comparable wattage. I have been using mine for close to 3 years now without any issues. Mounting to super simple and bulb changes are easy.
