So running it on the the return line with a t and then back onto the return did not work because I was getting pressure from both ends

For that to work you have to install a ball valve at “X”, and you will only open it when you remove your UV for maintenance. Hope it helps.

it's my return line from the sump I only have one return line I wouldn't get enuff pressure to the tank

The BRS video mention whether it should preferably go "before" or "after" the function a skimmer might have in the system. Of course, now I can't recall which-was-which, so label me 'No Help.' :rolleyes:

If mounted horizontally. Does it matter which side is hole is outflow? In other words can I make the hole with the bulb inlet be my water inlet?
