That can happen. My favorite scam in the world is a fishing trip on the Big Island. You pay good money to go reel in fish and the boat sells the fish. You literally pay to be a deckhand. The best deal is hang out at the Kona Brewery at the bar and chat with people during happy Hour. I met a captain who took me out fishing for free and we had a huge BBQ after. It was a blast.

Ugh, i still regret not making to the the brewery, we spent 4 of our days there right down the street!

THATS IT! My next trip will be back to Hawaii....but it is like really, really far for me from the east coast.

I was lucky to go to Kona years ago, stayed north of there, saw a breaching humpback off Hapuna beach and did most of my snorkeling at beach 69. I was planning on snorkeling at the refuge south of Kona but got some 24 hour stomach bug. We also did a day trip to Hilo to see the volcano.

Those breakfasts will kill you....6 egg omelettes, pancakes the size of frisbees...

That's the trick. Eat out for breakfast. Snack throughout the day. Get a slice and a salad at the Kona Brewery.

If you ever get a chance go to Kona Brewfest. Early March. They hold it right behind the King Kameahmeah Hotel. Kona Seaside is the cheaest hotel in that area I found. The brewery is the best pizza on the island. It was 5 bucks for a slice and a salad last time I was there. 3 dollar happy hour beers.

I'd love to go fly fish around Yosemite. I've backpacked all around it, but wasn't into fly fishing at the time. Would love to go back but its a little far from Alabama. Just got into tying flies, but I'm mostly fishing for warm water species so it's a little different.

The programming has been working splendidly for the past 40+ years. Kicking it into high gear in the last five has helped increase crazy comments like this one.

If it’s recess and you’ve got the first pick between the fifty states, you’d be nuts to not take California first.

This isn’t related to the question asked by the OP, just like your crying about California. You guys should quit showing everyone your hand. Normal people are not stoked on the high percentage of deplorable folks in this country. Its shocking. Grow up or save it for the klan meeting. After Jan 6, no one should have to suffer any more of these stupid divisive comments. It’s gone too far.

Leave your self righteous politics at home. I've been to Cali many times, it's a cesspool of crime and homelessness and corruption. Wherever Californians move to in droves, becomes the same. Look at say Portland Oregon, Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Texas, Arizona, etc... All becomes just like the failed state of California. So move along, the grown ups know the truth. Your bias is showing, just like many of your other posts. If California is sooooo great, why do you people flee en mass to red States?

We have some good fishing here in seattle. I grew up fishing. Me personally i dont like or want to do anything on vacation. Maybe site seeing or doing 1 or 2 things a day. Relax would be my goal. Sit on a beach. Mexico. Cali. Floridia. Lol. Or pick an island if u have the $.

I can think of many states that would come before California for any type of vacation. Alaska, Florida, Hawaii, Wyoming, Colorado, Wisconsin, Michigan, Idaho, Maine, Utah. Canada is much nicer than anywhere in California, especially the Banff/Jasper corridor, go in September/October though as the snow in the mountains makes it Soo much more memorable. Fishing in the sound is awesome, but stay away from the rivers that dump into it as the treatment water has poisoned the waters with flushed pharmaceuticals, why people still do that is beyond me. I used to fish out of the end of the world/Ho national Forest. Great for close in Sea fish like rock fish and such in a small boat.

The only cesspool is what's in your tiny mind. California's population has grown every single year. More people in California voted for Trump than Texas or in any other state. California has it's problems just like every other state. You need to learn critical thinking instead of parroting fake news.
