Hi all.
I am currently freaking out. I’ve had this 75g tank for 3 years. All my inhabitants have been great.
Until recently, I noticed my uv (coraline) and protein skimmer weren’t working properly. (Uv had pump issues, skimmer had calcium buildup)
After fixing them, a lot of shtuff went into my tank. I screwed up a pump and skimmer connector that let some brown stuff and a whole bunch of tiny particles return to my water. This was 3 days ago and there are still this dustylike particles in my tank.

Suddenly, I’m noticing all this dusty stuff on my fish. My gramma can’t stop flashing(he usually did it like a few times a month but now it’s constant) and my clowns, wrasse and foxface seem to have this dust and particles on the fins.
Luckily they are all eating like pigs still. But they still are swimming like they have something they can’t shake off.

Please help. Is this just stuff/particles from the skimmer and filter that latched onto them? Or is this velvet aka the end of my tank. Attached are some pictures. The glass I just cleaned but has that dusty crap stick onto it immediately.

This is an accelerated case of ich and you will need to place fish in Quarantine tank and treat with Coppersafe or Copper Power at therapeutic level 2.25 for a FULL 30 days (do not interrupt this 30 day period) monitored with a Hanna Brand copper test kit- No API brand. Also monitor Ammonia levels while in quarantine with a reliable test kit and add aeration during treatment using an air stone. All other fish in with it should also be removed as they have also been exposed to the parasites and placed in quarantine tank.
The display tank will have to be kept fishless (FALLOW) for 6-8 weeks to assure the existing parasites go through their life cycle without a host fish and die off. Inverts and coral can remain in the display (not treatment) tank during fallow period.
A quarantine tank can be as simple as a tank from a second hand store, a Rubbermaid type tub or a starter kit from Walmart which most of the needed essentials.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

I agree, this looks like ich, but the amount of white particles in the water makes it difficult to say for sure. Can you post a video that shows the clownfish up close?
