Veterans Day

I realize today is Election Day, a national holiday where a lot of us don't have to go to work. (Yes I voted) But this Friday is Veterans Day. Veterans Day, to me is the most important day because if it were not for Veterans, we would not have Election Day, Christmas, Thanksgiving, The Fourth of July or any other American Holiday.

Please thank a Vet when you see them.

Most younger Americans don't realize why they have this wonderful free country that we here in the US live in.



I put this short film up last year for Viet Nam Veterans day but I am sure much of it covers all wars.

It is very hard for me to watch it, especially the second part.

I always thank veterans any time I can. I even do it when it's out of the blue and perhaps awkward and random.

This young American has no idea what they endured but is aware of the sacrifices given for this country.

Thank you for posting this Paul.

I am excited that this weekend I will be blessed to help cook steak dinners for 300+ vets and their wives. My wife and I both served but were lucky to come through our service intact. Our guests of honor will be a group of wounded warriors that will be flying in for what we call "Heroes Week". Meeting these men and women who have made such tremendous physical sacrifices puts so much in perspective.

The company I work for provides this beauty for us employees to check out. Makes cooking for this large a crowd much easier!

Cool Bar be cues, Wish I was there.
I am Honored this week because I was asked to speak tomorrow in front of a bunch of Kiwanis's members about my experiences in Viet Nam.
This is the second time I have been asked to speak about this. It is not my favorite topic as I would much rather speak about fish which does not bring up memories that I choose to forget. But I want people to know what our wonderful, brave members of the military go through. I don't know much about the present conflicts in the middle east or WW2 as I wasn't there so I will speak about what I know about.
