Vibrant update from UWC?

just curious if there is any update from UWC. It’s been almost 2 months since this finding and there haven’t been any communications/updates that we’ve seen from UWC.

Personally, it feel like they’re trying to just “forget” this and let it fall by the wayside. They’ve met with the manufacture, and are probably going through some audit; but don’t they owe us an explanation rather than being radio silent?

If this is the case, I would hope that the EPA or investigators would force them to stop selling the product until the investigation is concluded. Vibrant continues to be on the shelves of LFS (mine included) and selling on amazon. It should be discontinued for sale until the label is accurate. Not everyone is on Reef2Reef . So I am sure a lot of people have no idea what has been proven at this point. I realize forcing them to discontinue sales, is probably not how it really works. But that is what I would like to have seen happen in an ideal response, at the very least.

i only dosed 1x a week for about 2 months. about 2 months later is when my tank started showing signs of things going south.. only now am i starting to see things bounce back. definitely lost a few corals..

Can someone share the thread that talks about what happened? I missed it but did dose vibrant about two years ago. I noticed issues initially with my frogspawn and hammer and had things spiral for about 3-5 months after.

Vibrant killed half of my bubble algae in 2 weeks, but also took out a 250$ trachyphyllia. Now I am left with lots of bubble algae and a bone to pick with UWC.

Vibrant is an algaecide, not the bacteria as advertised.

It's not reef safe.

Ps. Overpriced algaecide.

I really wish this came out sooner. I had dosed vibrant a year or so back and it basically crashed my tank. I had only just started to get things going again in the right direction.

You know this probably also explains why all my soft corals melted away... It was about the same time. I wrote it off mentally because I switched lights. It was probably a combination of the two...

Yeah I had the same issues 6 months ago I dosed it and it killed my hammer anemone and mushroom. Never again will I use it. I basically had to rip clean my system to get my tank looking better

It took a 8 months for me to restart my tank to the pre-vibrant state. And even now I'm battling with the Dinos that's appears after Vibrant usage...

Yeah, a reef-safe bacterial blend...

Ideally the company must be sued for false advertising.
