That is cant say much on, besides that it's never happened to me(probably lost power a dozen times since i got these lights), and the story about someone messing with settings to show their friend corals and the lights come on at 100% sounds more like someone making a mistake and blaming the light to me. Just my 2 cents

DId you remove your lenses, or is yours as is straight out of the box? What is your white and blue settings? Thanks

As is straight out of the box. I have been acclimating new corals and I think I'm back up to 10% white and 60% blues currently

Hows that look? Nice and blue? Whites arent overpowering it?

They're a little overpowering, but not terrible. I'm plannjng on building a t5 combo setup in the very near future. Keep an eye out for a build post in the near future!

The brand new vipars DO adjust by 1% increments. I just opened mine up from amazon right now and tested it. 1% adjustments on both channels. Unless maybe i lucked out and got a brand new, old model that was sitting on a shelf.

The whites at 1% and blues at 100% is still super white looking in the tank. Definitely going to have to remove the white lenses or something. I saw on youtube one guy put blue painters tape inside the white lenses to weaken the whites. Sticking with my wills 165w for now until i can figure this out

I seen somewhere on here removing a bunch of the 12k whites and replacing them with 4500, 5500 white. I need to try that with my 7 year old viaspectra that has 1% adjustments

Yeah its way too white at 100% blue 1% white. Ill mess around with it and see what i can do. Ill try pulling the white lenses first, and then try the blue tape inside the white lenses. Right out of the box, the wills light definitely has a nicer looking bluer spectrum.

Well there. I got screwed. They must have changed back because mine are only a year or so old and do 10%. They probably got sick of people asking about it haha

So, success. i saw a guy on youtube with the same issue. 1% whites is way too much and makes the tank white. He put blue painters tape inside half of his white lenses. I did the same thing, but on all of them, but on the outside of the white lenses, which i thought was a better idea than having tape touching the leds. It actually OVER corrected it. Way too blue. So i took it apart again and removed four of the taped whites. Might even do two more in the future. But this is definitely a solution, and completely harmless and reversible mod. Good thing i have a par meter. This light is crazy powerful. I have it set to 10 blue and 5 white, raised it from 14" to 18", and it us just slightly higher par than my other fixture. The par overall is still low (i just got my meter, so had no idea). So ill ramp it up slowly until i reach 300 at the top of tank where my sps is.
