actually yes it would be called low tide

i believe that even at night or "low tide", our little pumps don't even come close to simulating the current in the ocean. jmo.

Here is the full manual...it is on page 27 - 30 on how to configure it and turn it on...press hold set and mode twice.

I prefer the Nutrient Transport Mode, which works best after "saving" your optimal wave in the Short Pulse mode. That way you have some random wave action interspersed with occasional constant current to help flush out the suspended detritus.

Low tide isn't a calming of the ocean- its the water all rushing to different areas based on the tidal fluxuation. It just appears calmer to us surface dwellers because there is less wave cresting due to lower winds- but all the reef critters are getting the exact same water movement/motion.
