Would it be a bad practice to mount VorTech pump controllers on the inside of the door to your stand on which your aquarium sits. I realize that some play would need to be left in the cords. I have a new red sea max e 170 system I am setting up. Had to purchase the VorTech 40's because of the half inch glass. I realize that is overkill for this size of tank. I figure it will take me a little while to get them set properly and don't want to have to be on hands and knees trying to get to them. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!

Just leave some slack in the wire so it doesn't get pinched by the door. If you want some extra protection use some plastic automotive wire loom.

Just mount it in a place where it cannot be inadvertently splashed. That’ll quite effectively kill it.
