Ok pump placement geniuses I'm looking for ideas!

I have a 265g 84x24x30” tall.

I have 4, yes 4 Mp60’s back from when I was going to do a 400g tank.

How many should be used and where would you place them?

EcoTech calculator says 2 max but wondering if I could run 3 or even 4 and just not run them super high.

Tank will be SPS dominant but I do have chalices and other fleshy LPS plus some shrooms and zoas in the frag tanks waiting for this build.

I haven’t decided on rock work yet.

I don’t know if I qualify as a vortech placement genius - don’t think it’s a ‘problem’ that requires genius-level advice :D. I did, however, recently run a ML265 that was mostly SPS. Had one MP60 on each end (running antisynch) and a third at much lower power on the back.

Thanks for the feedback!

I had considered one or two along the back with one on each side.

You think all 4 wouldn’t be to much flow?

I also considered something like this:

Do you have an apex? If so there is a setting "Eco Back" which is made for pumps on back walls of tank. If not, just run a lower setting on the rear powerheads vs the side powerheads.

Here is what I ended up with.

MP60’s on the ends, 2 MP40’s on the back.
