This seems to only be affecting DOS and trident users?

The only commonality between the handful of issues I've personally be able to verify myself was the presence of a DOS QD on the system, which implies the system is on one of the two newest AOS versions.

I've seen reports of regular DOS owners have overdose issues, but no one that's said as much has reached out to me so I can verify.

But I can also go to it in the task as well. Are you sure you're not clicking the trident NP that's shown up now?

My eyes just didn’t see the “old” trident tasks only saw the disabled np tasks.

No, this is happening with mine, and mine is a second generation apex.

Just to be clear - after your unit overdosed, your dashboard didn't register anything being dosed into the tank?

I tested my alk for the first time in few days today and it was higher than I anticipated, probably just a coincidence. I also have not been home..this has me a touch worried haha

Correct -- the doser head was on, and the dosing log showed nothing dosed.

If it's just slightly higher than usual, I would say your demand is probably lower than it typically is for one reason or another (or your test is higher than usual).

If it's off the charts, however, that's a different story... What are you dosing? If you're dosing soda ash / kalkwasser / NaOH you'll see your pH go through the roof as well.

Absolutely. If your doser happens to not use the 1link and instead uses a DC adapter, I'd recommend adding a rule to forcefully turn it off by cutting power to it.

Unfortunately, if it's your AFR, there's not really a great indicator for that. If kalkwasser, then the pH is a great indicator.

I installed a QD on one my APEX's this morning.

Had to update Fusion to make it work.

Update went fine, and everything came back on - well one WAV that I suspet hasn't been working for a month but I missed it was missing...repalced with a back up and all good.

The 2 current DOS on that system are functioning properly so far. I copied the code for one of the current DOS (100000ml/day) to the QD and the two seem to be running about the same, turning off and turning on.

Seemed relevent even though I don't have the problem some are reporting. Forgiveness please if not.

That’s my issue.. mine is ran off the wallwart power supply but I only use my dos for bacto balance and all for reef… I don’t see any safe haven in my scenario. Rrrrr

Possibly? I’m not that handy with computers and programming lol.. I just build stuff.. even then I wouldn’t know if it’s, it’s normal dose or a haywire one. It doesn’t dose much a day so for now I’ll just drain my containers down and keep a safe amount in there and refill them every 3 days or so. I’m not to worried about the all for feed my tank could handle the over dose! It’s the carbon dosing that could wipe it out as my tank only uses 6ml a day… if it dumped a couple hundred it would be all bad’

That's not rude at all! I've never gotten any official badging or anything on R2R, so you're right to be curious. I'm one of the Neptune Systems software engineers, and currently the main guy investigating the DOS overdosing reports.

Typically, I don't ask for access directly, but in this case I think it's important to just cut to the chase as quickly as possible. You don't have to give me access at all... you could go through Neptune Support and wait for me to check your Apex through our official support channels. The only difference is the time it takes for me to dig in.

Don’t get me started on the wav! Ha……They FINALLY are available again! Wahoo…..we’ll only as the wsk kit with two pumps and a 1Link. No a la carte pumps yet. I’ve been too lazy to hit Neptune up as I needed a couple replacements a long time ago when they were not available. I totally thought they were discontinued as they’ve been out for about two years now. Glad you had/have spares!
