Washing Socks

I heard you can put these in the washer. I assume with no detergent? A little bleach? Or is everyone washing by hand? I bought a pack of cheap socks to keep on rotation faster but washing by hand is for the birds. Not ready to commit to another tech yet.

Im using my washer on strong mode with custom spin, using 5 spin and 3 dry cycles to make sure the socks are completely clean, i use no detergent, just water

I switch them out every few days pile them up and when I’m out yes then washer with bleach rinse in rodi beofre back in tank

I use my Washer with a steam sanitize cycle and bunch of bleach, and then 2 quick cycles with just water.

I do also rinse the socks first to make sure any heavy stuff is knocked off before going through the washer.

I add approx 1/2 cup of bleach and water to an empty salt bucket. Add the sock that were turned inside out and lightly rinsed to this bucket. The sock will start to smell if I don't do that. The socks will sit in the bucket until I have about 24 socks to wash.

On wash day, I use a LOT of bleach in the washer. I do an extra rinse, added extra water, and a high spin. I air dry the socks. No need for RODI

I only use mine for polishing the water as I siphon the sand bed, or on rare occasions when my fleece roller is out of commission.

I wash them outside in the garden hose jet spray nozzle and air dry.

Wouldn’t put these in my washer, or the wife might whip me.

I keep them in a bucket of bleach water until I have enough to wash. I put in about a cup of bleach and run the washing machine on hot water with extra rinse. Then Ill run it again with no bleach and hang outside to air dry.

The wife won't let me use the washer. I use this instead. I change my socks out twice a week. I keep enough socks to last a month and simply wash them in vinegar with this machine once a month. Takes only a few minutes each month. Really easy.

I did wash mine from time to time. I did use a very small amount to detergent and bleach. I would also rinse and spin 3 times and let air dry for a day. Never has any issues

I wash on warm - Hot , water only and come out white

I keep a 5 gallon bucket about 3/4 full of bleach water and when it's time to swap filter socks, the dirty ones go in the bleach-water bucket. After I get about 5-6 pairs of socks in the bleach bucket, fully soaked, so there's not much (or any) 'debris' left on the socks, I run them thru the washing machine with hot water and bleach and an extra rinse. I then let them air dry for 72 hours and they're 'good as new' ready to be used again. Super easy, at least to me.

I've been washing filter socks in washing machines for 19 years. I turn them inside-out and typically I add a "glug" of bleach. If I'm concerned I overdid it, I'll run them through an additional rinse cycle. The rinse is less for the socks than it is preventing my clothes from getting bleach stains.

They simply get cleaner in the washing machine, and they smell way better.

I prefer a front-loading washer because the socks tumble, which I feel does a better job. I've used top-load washers too but they just don't agitate the material as well.

Bedding cycle so the tub actually fills with water. Hot water setting with a capful of bleach. Then max out on extra rinses on washer. I then soak the socks in a bucket of water with Prime water conditioner over night. Then air dry. I also bought a bunch of extra socks so I don’t have to do this often.
