Hi everyone I have a really annoying problem right now with my return pump. It works fine and everything however I can never seem to get the water level right in the area where the pump is the water level is above what it is meant to be in the sump but none of the water is going into the return pump area. I have tried to lower the strength of the pumps however that has just made the tank really noisy. I will send pictures and a video below

First off, is that a RedSea tank? What is the return pump model?

I'm not quite understand the setup on the 2nd video - I see two returns back into the return chamber ?
But from your statement "none of the water is going into the return pump area"
I am guessing something is slowing the flow down on the other chambers causing water flow to be very slow to get to the return chamber. Could it be your filtration is too much and it is clogged causing slow flow to the return chamber? What are you using for filtration - socks ?

Hopefully, someone with your same setup can help..

the water level is above what it is meant to be in the sump but none of the water is going into the return pump area.
Can you show a picture of the water level from the front of the sump? Not from above.

If you not using any kind of sponge filter between the return chamber and the rest of the sump that may be restricting the flow your water level is too low in the sump.

Does this sump have a min/max water level line on it?

Likely your pump is pumping water out faster than your overflow can deliver water back to pump area. Reduce pump flow so that water is distributed to pump chamber

that’s exactly what was the problem there were some kind of balls in the way which was restricting the flow and so I took out the sponge and placed it back in water level is perfectly fine now however the return pump is making a noise not really load though. I think it is because of the setting I have the pumps at although they are not that high they are at 50% and 30%

You also may need to readjust the gate valve to make your system more quiet

It’s a lot more quiet than before I only can really hear the sump which is not too much of an issue

Came here to say this, gate valve adjustment can be tricky on some tanks but well worth getting right.
