What do you guys recommend for filtration? 1st chamber sock or floss along with chemipure blue, 2nd chamber with sponge and heater or just heater? Having a hard time deciding what to add in the chambers. I plan on having mostly LPS with clowns and down the road an anemone.

When I woke up this morning noticed some algae growing from the rocks. The algae is clear and stringy, anybody have any idea what kind of algae this is?

No lights? Could be bacterial slime maybe.

There are so many ways to do it that work. If you are going low tech, I’d say skip the sponge. Floss and carbon/chemipure with water changes will work well after you have a good bacteria/biome. I prefer carbon to chemipure for regular use. You can mix in a little GFO when needed.

I like skimmers even on small tanks but certainly not required.

The tank is doing great! The slime went away after dumping MicroBacter7 and removing all candles nearby! The problem hasn't come back and I have added a few! I got a pygmy Angel, Royal Gramma, FIrefish. They're all getting along well. I also got an anemone, and hopefully, soon the clowns will host no luck so far.
