Hey Guys!

Just set up a new Waterbox 25 and have commenced cycling. Just curious as to what others are stocking and also using for media in the back chambers.

Any info appreciated

Hi and Welcome to R2R. :)

Attractive scape.

In my AIO I just using a filter sock and occasionally some charcoal to polish the water. In more heavily stocked tanks I using a Tunze Doc 9001.

Clowns, Royal Gramma, FireFish, many of the Damsels, Yellow Stripped Wrasses. Personally I like to window shop Liveaquaria. Since it's a bare bottom tank I would avoid many of the Gobies and pod eaters.

Thanks for the reply!

I’m looking at possibly getting a skimmer for the tank, just unsure of what might work with the radion bracket.

Thanks for the stocking advice too, I’d love to potentially get a royal gramma although they seem to be skyrocketing in price here.

Day 7 of the cycle, noticed ever since day 2-3 that the waters had a slight yellow tinge/cloudiness to it. Added carbon but still hasn’t changed.

OK. The bottom looked like potting soil. Have you dosed anything to the tank since the start up?

A skimmer and ROX 0.8 Carbon would help immensely.

Ohh nah just going bare can’t stand algae on sand.

I’ve only dosed the Dr Tim’s One and Only and the Ammonia Chloride but it said should clear up within 24-48 hours.

I am looking at getting skimmer just hard with the AIO real estate that I have.

Is Rox 0.8 carbon different to normal activated carbon?
Yes. It’s much more effective and significantly less dusty. I highly recommend it.

I've got a 15 waterbox Aio, maybe... 4 or 5 years running?
Ive got a bunch of corals, 2 clowns, and a royal gramma. Porcelain crab and a whole bunch of cuc. You've got a LOT of options in the smaller tank realm.
Regarding back chambers, I'm running:
First chamber - intank basket with floss and some carbon.
Second chamber - heater and ato.
Third chamber - uv and dosing.
I used to use seachem matrix in chamber 1 as well, but with the rock I have I figured it was overkill.

Yeah nice! I just ordered a media holder for the first chamber.

What uv are you running? Do you find it beneficial for the size?

Solid! I run the coralvue one meant for a biocube. I had to add some elbows so it sticks above the top, not sure if the 25 is any deeper. Luckily the intank rear cover actually hides it!
