I totally missed that you were running ozone. I need to come check out how you’re running all that
Straight into the skimmer, 30min on/off schedule. I think it helps, but honestly it's hard to quantify the results. My orp doesn't seem to be affected really so sometimes I wonder if it's even working.

Still have a fair amount of cyano, but otherwise most things look pretty good.

I'm up to 4.8L a day of kalk now and I'm using a vinegar kalk solution so it's super saturated. I thought my next step was going to be a CaRX, but I'm not loving the pH drop that comes along with it. Could be my cheapo Skimz reactor that's the culprit, but now I'm thinking of alternatives. All-for-reef has worked well in my nano. I love the single dosing head solution, but man it's not cheap (or available even right now). My next thought is the DIY ESV b-ionic dosing. To
o make it more urgent, I'm going vacation next week and I'm not sure my kalk container will last the full week (it should, but just barely).

anyhooo, aside from the ongoing cyano "issue", things are going well.

The tank survived a week without me! I'm sure it was harder on me than the fish or corals. My kalk tank just barely made it 7 days.

Some new frags from my last battelbox. FedEx was late delivering the box and I lost several and others looked rough.

Looking great!!
Thanks, wish I could say the same this week. Had a frag RTN and my Oregon tort is looking rough. I'm thinking either my lack of water changes recently has caught up with me, and/or the increase in par from T5 bulb replacements is causing an issue.

Did a WC last night and dropped the intensity on the LEDs a bit. Need to get the par meter out and measure too.

Seems everything is back on track. Never figured out what exactly caused the problems, but not seeing any new issues. 4 T5's replaced last month and I'll start replacing the last 4 over the next month. After measuring PAR I ended up dropping the LED's by about 15%.

I hate cleaning glass. But I finally got out the razor blade for the Tunze magnet and wow, so much easier than the plastic blades and man the tank sparkles now. Even my wife noticed how much better it looked.

Welcome aboard! I've been kinda lax about updates lately. I'm trying to be hands off with the tank so the only big change recently was removing the CArx from the sump (it wasn't running anyway). I tried it for a short time and the pH drop was too much for my comfort. I'm still just dosing kalk (fortified with vinegar) right now. I'm at ~5L per day currently.

I did start dosing TM Pro Trace A-/K+ over the past few months. Recent ICP doesn't show any major shift though.

I often struggle to measure my success in this hobby. Too often I set the bar by viewing other tanks that I aspire to and forget to appreciate the success I've had. Last year around this time the tank was in a death spiral and it took me far too long to realize the issue was dinos (and possibly other things). Here's a few shots of how is started (~Dec 2020) vs how it's going (Nov 2021)
