I have a water box 45.2, I like the Overall quality of the stand and the tank. The doors shut incredibly smooth and the setup is whisper quiet. The tank is well built, I like this as an all in one step up. I do Really enjoy my water box, I have not owned a Redsea, but my buddy loves his as well. I believe you would like both systems they are best on the market.

I set up a 170 in March and l love it. I had my heart set on buying a RedSea 250 but once I saw the water box 100 at my LFS I changed my mind and ordered the WB 135.
So when my tank came in the next week they also brought in a WB 190 for another customer and it made the 135 look way to small to me. After joking around with the owner about how it dwarfed my tank, he said he could let me reorder if I wanted a larger tank and I settled on the WB 170. I wish I would have had room for the 230 but I am very happy with the 170.

I think the cabinet on the WB is much better than RedSea. The wood is heavier and it has triple hinges on the doors. It is easy to assembler you follow the directions on the videos. You can watch several videos on the waterbox web site.
Things that I like:
Heavy duty furniture grade wood cabinet
Better plumbing ( you will understand once you see it)
The entire tank and overflow box is Star fire glass including the top for the overflow box
Larger sump and ATO
In my opinion WB has the total package

Good luck with what ever you decide

My biggest reason for wanting to go waterbox when I upgrade is 1. What you just stated 2. The tank options I want to get the frag series

Finally got the 230.6 up and running. The quality is amazing. Their CS is fantastic. Sometimes they don’t answer but they follow through. The plumbing and Caninets are phenomenal. We couldn’t be happier. Plumbing in a 60 series frag tank into this one as well which you see next to the 230.6

I was between RS 750 and WB 230 I think there pretty much same size tank.

WB "white" stands now come with black interior ( sucks i know ) but hey are beefier tho.

I like the 4 door on the WB 230 over the 3 doors of RS 750 gives you a controller cabby and ATO so you dont have to try to mix it. I believe the sump is smaller, trade off I guess.

I to hear good and bad just like any business but they do have a very active FB page and what not so I think they are invested in getting you a quality system.

there plumbing is US standard easier to build a manifold.

I did go with a RS just as it could ship out is a few days where WB 230 was on back order for a few months.
funny thing is my RS is still empty 6 months later :( boo

bottom line I would get either WB or RS both are great tanks. if you can see any of the sizes you are interested I would suggest it.
there are heavy tanks no joke.

Sure. Here are some pics. And FYI. The black interior are outstanding. Can’t see them unless doors are open. And they keep things a lot cleaner and tidier. I was also bummed at first but totally worth it and an upgrade in my opinion.

That looks awesome. When it’s time to upgrade my 170 I hope to get a 230. The frag tank looks great as well.
Good luck with your new tanks.

nice thanks! I the sump is smaller the the 750 but you do get one extra cabinet so....I guess I have not got my 750 wet yet so maybe i'll like the black inside too. I hope :)

@jose hernandez tough call on what size to do with for sure, but you do have some quality equipment I bet it would work on the 230
make an upflow (space saving) ATS to help the skimmer and maybe a Gyre or 2 to help the flow down the road once the SPS are rocking.
I would think 2 mp40 would keep you covers for a while?

anyway good luck with the new tank!
