Does anyone have any idea what this is on my clownfish? Weird little blip right on top of her armpit kind of. Whiteish and pinkish. I live in Florida and it’s been in the 30s here the past couple days. Wondering if it could possibly be stress related due to the changing of the water temperature?

Could be as simple as sand grain which happens with clowns which have a coat of mucus on them. Pics however are extremely dark in blue lighting. Pics best under white lighting

I can't tell if it's a raised bump or a hole. If raised it looks like lymphocystis. If it's a hole, it may be a bacterial ulcer.

Can you do a small favor - can you give some more information? Like how old the fish is, etc etc - in my signature - there is a link to some of the questions which can help us help you. Thanks for the clearer pictures - can you take an arrow - and point out exactly which spot you're referring to? I see a couple. A bright white one - and a larger lesion. How long did this take to come on? Any other symptoms?

PS - what is the temperature in the water of your tank and :) - Fish do not have armpits. I'm pretty sure I know what lesion you're talking about but just want to make sure. The timeline (as mentioned) is also important.

There are two threads going on about this fish, and of course, I answered the other one since I saw it first. I’ll flag the other thread .

From the later pictures, I’m thinking either a rare fungal infection or a neoplasm, depending on how long the fish has had this.

Temperature of the water fluctuates between 77-78. The last few days it’s gotten down to 75-76 due to the extra cold temperatures outside. It does look like some sort of lesion. I just noticed this within the past few days which makes me wonder if it has to do with the temperature fluctuation.

The fish is probably 5-7 months. Some kind of weird lump/wart/lesion that I noticed protruding a few days ago.

I'm going to agree with @Jay Hemdal though I am not sure a neoplasm would develop this quickly - it could be a fungus - or a virus. I would suggest - since - at least - it seems related to potentially temperature - that you buy a heater - which may help if it is fungal. Of course - if it's a neoplasm - it will not. It could also be an injury - with a secondary bacterial infection.

Agreed - a neoplasm would grow over weeks to months. However, I have seen people miss these at first, making them appear to just show up. I don't think this is Lymphocystis.

I don’t believe it’s lymphocystis either. It looks like a really bad pimple. However it does seem smaller today.

If anyone is wondering, this went away on its own. The cold front passed so the ambient temperature in my house leveled back out. I also did a water change and a few days later this white blip was gone. Still not sure what it was but it’s gone now.

If you are from Tampa as your profile says you don’t get to say it’s extra cold outside or there’s a cold front! :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: YOU LITERALLY LIVE IN THE SUNSHINE STATE!

Temperature dropped below 34. I’m aware it’s not freezing but for Florida it’s cold. The inside ambient temperature changes enough to affect the tank.

Okay no it is then. I just thought you were exaggerating lol. Floridians tend to do that about the weather when it’s below 60-70 degrees lol.
