In need of a couple of wet side O-rings for my MP-40qd's. EcoTech sells them for $2.43 each. Great, right? The problem is that they also charge $15 shipping on said product. I emailed support and was told there is nothing they can do about it. I'm sitting here doing a slow burn over this. Interweb search comes up empty as far as anyone else selling these. Has anyone found them anywhere else or have a better idea?

TIA

@twistedfinn967 did you ever find another seller or have luck finding a comparable oring from Grainger? I too have an issue, purely out of principal, paying $15 to snail mail 2 orings.

Finding myself in the same situation.

MP40 o-ring needed, only now EcoTech wants $32.02 to ship an O-Ring!
Unbelievable................

There are Hundreds of MP owners here who will face the same issue. Lets let the company know just how ridiculous and down-right wrong this is...................

EcoTech a few years ago finally let us all know what lube they use on the Vortex MP series. Which helped immensely in my opinion.

Maybe EcoTech will do the right thing and make these maintenance parts available at a reasonable price

Here are the shipping quotes from EcoTech..................

Shipping method

Choose a shipping method

UPS® Ground

$32.02

UPS 3 Day Select®
3 business days
$41.02

UPS 2nd Day Air®

UPS Next Day Air®

Laughable!

Bump......
Anyone have a solution other than pay a exorbitant shipping fee to EcoTech for a $3 dollar O-Ring for the MP series?

I’m wondering why they are needed. What is their purpose? Can we run without them? I’ve been using mp40’s since about 2012 (I think) and I’m wondering if I even have orings on mine anymore. I’ll have to check next cleaning.

The O-ring helps secure the cage that keeps the impeller from hitting fish, other aquatic life. If you don't look close you won't even know the O-ring is there. Without it the cage spins itself off.
Hope that makes sense

I probably have an extra. Will ship for free. Find out in about 9 hours.

Also try Ace hardware. They have a huge selection of O-rings.

I’m in the same boat. I may take my good o ring out and head to ace tomorrow see what I match up with. Just kinda worried about what may leach out of it chemical wise.

I'm hoping that EchoTech will somehow take note of how ridiculous their shipping charges are for something as simple as a maintenance item like an O-Ring.
I haven't had luck buying a duplicate O-Ring yet.
I doubt anything would leach out in any quantity from a small O-Ring, but anything is possible.

Please EchoTech do the right thing, the MP's are very expensive & simple maintenance items like an O-Ring shouldn't cost $32.02 shipping to Michigan for a $3 dollar item.

Thank you all for looking..........................
