What’s happening to my burning banana?

This morning nothing was wrong. I get back home for lunch and there’s a dime size skeleton. All params check out. Any ideas?

It’s been there for about 6 months

I would test alkalinity twice a day for a few days. Once when you wake up and sometime before bed. Ime stony easier stony corals can like a Stylocoeniella can handle a bit more variation than an acropora but still not like a soft coral that the alkalinity can drop and raise 2 dkh daily and still thrive.

I did add supplemental t5's about two weeks ago but have only been turning 2 bulbs on a day for an hour. That may have something to do with it I'm not sure. As for alk I test daily at random times and since I've gotten a calcium reactor I'm ALWAYS at 9dkh on the dot.

Yes it has been doing very well since Ive had it. Great PE and quick growth.

No it looks like warfare but nothing is close to it.

I can when I get home. It definitely receives more light with the supplemental lighting.

I would suspect possible bleaching but not actual die off from adding T5's

Yeah agreed, I have no idea what it could be nothing in the tank has changed and the PARAMS are rock solid.

How do you get good yellow out of yours mine has turned solid red

If it continues I'd try to break off the dead part from the healthy coral since it's on the back glass

Lol, I honestly think my burning banana 'was' the best Ive seen. I only had 2 XR15's over my 350 and he is halfway down the tank so I believe its because he was in the perfect spot for the offset lighting. Also he get absolutely blasted with flow. He seemed to like that for the last 6 months.

Thats the plan for now. I will monitor and see if it slows or heals. If not im going to break it off and move it lower.
