This saltwater endevour can get as expensive as You let it . Sure, Lot's of ways to sure $$ but still a "lot". But still more than you than you anticipate ! Over a period of time one could easy spend 100% more than anticipated !

Man, this is rough!

Completely agree with the suggestion to use RO water. Lots of it. Dunk the lights in it. Nothing in RO water will hurt the lights with power off.

If you have a multi meter you can measure the resistance of the water (use a consistent spacing between leads) before and after the rinse. If the resistance of the water drops then you are still removing salt and should continue.

Hi everyone thank you for all the suggestions! I thoroughly rinsed the lights last night with RO water. With how late it was I couldn't do much else so they're sitting in rice. Today I'll find that little torx bit and see what lies on the inside :/.

I feel so much better knowing other people have done this / that there's a chance the lights will be OK. I thought I was totally screwed haha.

Yeah, sure is a relaxing hobby... when you can sit back and watch the tank... which is NEVER!!!! haha.
