With so many options out there today what are you dosing and why? It seems there’s more and more people successful today with sps tanks then 10 years ago! My tank is simple just top off with kalk and dose all for reef.. I also dose ammonia now to help keep nitrates up and a couple drops lugols every other day or so just cause I always see icp tests come back with low iodine for others.. I’m not into dosing tons of things and could care less what a icp test tells me about my tank as my corals grow and color just fine… I was dosing tons of bacteria and carbon dosing but my doser broke and I didn’t really notice a difference so I quit! I do add zeobak to diy coral snow after every water change which is normally 2-3 weeks but that’s about it! I know there’s lot of moonshiners out there with a lab but what else are people seeing positive results with?!?

AFR plus 2 part to cut the expense of AFR with my higher water volume. Other than that just fish poop and biweekly water changes. Flatworm stop every other day because I have a bottle to use up 🤷🏻‍♂️
I hear ya! That’s why I top off with kalk lol.. I still dose 125ml of afr daily. 🤦🏻‍♂️

No water change, Balling three part + TM A & K elements, Elimi NP, Amino acids and weekly Reef Actif. Wow, sounds like a TM add…. I use Fauna Marin Salt. Occasionally I add a teaspoon of kalkwasser/ rodi slurry strait into the sump. Do not bother to do ICP but check PO4, NO3, KH Ca Mg and K ( my tank consumes 30-50 ppm K / month

I just switched from kalk to AFR. I'm only using ~34ml/day of AFR so it's pretty affordable. The tank isn't particularly SPS heavy, but the 3 clams have really increased the alk and Ca needs.

I do a 10 gallon water change weekly, although lately I've been experimenting with changing out a gallon a day.

BRS balling hybrid w/ TM A- & K+, and neophos to stay above 0.

This has grown a bunch of 12” acro colonies for me but then green Slimer doesn’t grow, so don’t take it as gospel 🤷🏻‍♂️

I tried the kz flatworm stop as I’ve seen some guys claim it thickens the flesh and you get better colors.. I did 10ml daily in my 300 for a week and got Dino’s 🤦🏻‍♂️. I also changed from halides to LEDs so I don’t know the root cause and prolly never will as it’s one them things! That’s the only changes I made to the tank in 2 years! I stopped the kz and hooked up a uv light and I’m Dino free again after 3 days.

I'm dosing kalk, Mrs wages to be exact, three tablespoons a week into my reactor.

I have a calcium reactor which is a good offset to the Mrs wages.

I recently started to dose these;

Only because I won them free in a raffle. I did notice some color starting to come out a little bit better so that makes me happy.

Interesting.. I know iodine is typically low unless you dose it.. strotium I’ve seen on tests here or there on the low side.. no clue what mine is 🤣

On my SPS tank currently 30ml AFR daily because it's easy. I also have ammonim bicarb on a doser but once it brought my NO3 up to 9 from 0 I stopped daily dosing and just pump 10ml in once and while. I have to dose PO4 once in a while also to keep it off 0. I manually dose that. I try to keep things as simple as possible. I do 2g WCs once a week so I can vacuum detritus that collects in one corner.

I can tell you first hand that moonshine is legit. It’s a commitment though. If not doing that I would still dose tropic Marin A&K. Regardless a little more iron and manganese daily additions seems to help the acros take off. If you hit the tank with a corrective dose of fluoride after an ICP you will see the difference as well.

Newbie here. All For Reef does the heavy lifting. 110/ml day in my 8 year old mixed reef. Because I have a refugium / coral junk drawer of sorts that has a lot of macro algae, Sea Grapes (Caulerpa lentillifera), I dose 10 ml of ESV Transition Elements per day. This helps with iron, manganese, and zinc.
