What are your thoughts on Grid Filters?

For what it is I prefer the marina hob fish breeders as they got a decent volume to create a nice fuge on a nano tank.

Tried searching for some info about people actually using these, but came up short. Got any source of actual real-world use by somebody?
There are a few YouTube videos covering this variety of filter (including the one in my original post), but none focusing on usage in the marine hobby (to my knowledge).

Doesn’t look useful in most instances. Maybe to house and separate mushrooms? Or BTA splits?

The biological media is of no use to any tank with rock. I don’t even have anything in the back of my AIO except a heater and a pump as it is.

I guess if you need gfo or carbon but it will get nasty quick in a reef tank. A reactor is less of an eye sore.
