What ATO is everyone using??

Red Sea ATO. I know there are some haters out there but i love being able to see remotely what's going on - level of water, how much RO/DI water was added etc. I also have a Red Sea tank and the return valve is def wonky and causes issue that i get notified about and can deal with immediately with a notification.

Do you have photos of it?

Will try to get photos in the evening.

It's a simple solenoid hooked up to apex.

There is a float switch (safety #1) that tells apex when level drops. Apex runs the ATO program during day hours every 3 hours for max 4 minutes each time (safety #2) or until safety switch-1 or safety switch-2 (safety #3) says ENOUGH!

At the end of the line there is a float valve that cuts off the flow of water should everything else fail and the sump level is too high. (safety #4)

There is safety #5 but for the sake of this discussion we'll leave it at that or people will call me crazy.

Edited :: because I missed one of the safeties in place

Nature Dimensions N-Fill - Small, sleek and just works!

This looks interesting. I have a high level sensor failing on a kamoer unit and am looking for replacement. I have several different brands of ATO including tunze and TBH I don't find much difference between them except my old JBJ units which are no longer made. They use float switches instead if optical sensors and they just work. I've had several optical sensors fail but have yet needed to replace a float switch on a JBJ unit even after being in service for 8 years.

I like them so much I bought 2, one for my IM 25 Lagoon and one for my IM 15 Cube. The pump is super quiet which I like as the 25 Lagoon is in my home office and I work from home. No fancy wifi, but that is fine with me. I have a $5 off coupon in case anyone is interested in ordering one ;)

I’ve always ran tunes and have been happy with reliability.

I have the Osmolator 3 on my 225 gallon and the osmolator nano (not the nano 3) on my 30 gallon.

They are a great product and I think worth the $

I do a 15 minute dip in vinegar for my JBJ float switches maybe once a year. Not sure if it helps, but mine are still working fine after a good 10 years.

I'll take the coupon if you want to DM it to me. Im blessed and don't hear the high pitch alarm on my failing unit but I'm getting s verbal reminder from my Gal every time she hears it so I need to do something about it.

Duetto 2 for my large reef. Cheap Amazon ones on my 240 gal FOWLR and my daughter’s 29 gal softie tank.

I use a ecotech versa set to add a set amount of top off water through the day. It’s a pretty accurate way top off once you figure out how much your system evaporates daily. Been doing it this way for two years and no worries of overflow or clogged sensors.

I wrapped this one in a piece of knee high stocking when I installed it to keep snails out and it ended up being in for over 6 years before I took the sump down and was never cleaned. Every couple of months i have to fiddle with one if the optical sensors.
