So I have been wanting to upgrade the light for my 9 gallon nano tank and was browsing amazon late last night. I came across this light offered through Amazon Prime for just $25.

http://www.jbjlighting.com/prod-BayLED.html

From what I can tell it is the 50 watt Blue one. There was only one in stock, and the price seemed ridiculously low so I bought it.

Just got an email that it has shipped and should arrive by the 14th.

I can't find any information on it except what is on that page and a press release from 2013 saying they were coming out with the lights.

Anyone had one of these?

It doesn't appear to be dimmable, is it too bright for my nano?
I've never run a "blue" light, always a combination of colors. Is it ok for fish?
Does it have a plug end?
Does it have a switch even?
Anyone know anything at all about this thing?
Any ideas on how I can mount it?

I can't find on on their site for $27. I see it for $77. Dense matrix led. You'll need to dial back if the par readings are correct.

That's a cannon. If you don't want I might.
2200 par at 12in.

Yea. That would work be good for a 50 60 cube. Depending on the press maybe a 90

There was only one available at the $25 price. How do I dial it back if it's not dimmable? I don't actually have a lot of clearance over where the nano tank is set up so I can't get it more tha say, 2 feet above the water.

Hmmm, I may have to just put it aside for the next tank upgrade if it will fry this tank.

If you bought the light you linked, then that's probably going to be too strong for a 9g. Looks like it comes with a loop on top for hanging it.

See the problem is I don't speak led speak :P

I just saw that it had a similar form to the Kessils and was made by JBJ who I've heard of. Looks like it originally retailed around $300 so I figured for $25 it was worth a shot.

There is like no info online.

At 50 watts I thought it would be less "canonlike" than the Kessil 80...

You got the 50?
Check the chart in the link you used under specs. There's one for the 150 and the 50
The 50 claims only 1700 par
It's a small cannon
I've never seen PAR info from kessil.

I'm personally not a fan of jbj lights. My cube was just terrible so maybe I hold a grudge. I have one I got cheap, real cheap on my coral QT. The jury is still out.
