I started up my first saltwater tank, a 20 gallon long, I put sand and live rock in and have a hang on back filter, heater, and 500 gph circ pump in it, it has been cycling for 3 days and I just got a damsel in it, I would like to eventually grow corals but don’t have the light or protein skimmer yet, so...what do I do next?

Cycling a tank with fish is old school and isn't practiced anymore as it's considered curel to the fish. I would return the damsel to the LFS.

Here's a good read on cycling:
