Don't know if I've done this thread on here before, but ah well! We got so many new members we can do it again!

What are some of the things you collect other than things that are reef related? Pics would be great, too!

I like to collect books! I would love to have a large library in my home some day! :nerd:

And a few of the girly things I collect are:

jewelry boxes
perfume bottles
and shopping bags

What about you?

scars apparently... :) Got some freshies this weekend that should be real nice for the summer.

Oh boy... here we go:

Rocks - All sorts of unusual or pretty cool looking rocks/crystals
Swords - I have a large collection, but with the kids in the house now it has been getting smaller. I have some very high end ones I'd like to sell but have yet to find a good buyer.
Old School Technology - I have a Radio Shack TRS-80 ar home that uses 10.5" floppies. I also like to make keychains out of old ram chips and small pieces of tech
Tools - Well this is more of a need to make sure I have the tool for every job, but my wife thinks I am just collecting ;)

Other collections that have been stale collections for a few years would include Baseball Cards, Coins, Stamps, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Keychains, hubcaps, and a few others that are not at the top of my head at the moment...

I have a couple of really nice guitars. I play in a band. Would like to build up my collection eventually. I dont have a pic of my acustic on hand but will post a pic tonight when I get home. For the time being..

I do some coin collecting and have all of the years that the state quarters were in production in silver proof, all coin denominations.

Rocks/minerals/fossils: Both my wife and I are geologists and we have some unusual pieces.

I guess you could say I collect plants, specifically those of the family Gesneriaceae (aka 'gesneriads'.) The most famous of these is the African violet, but many bear no resemblance to the violet. Some are epiphytic vines (Aeschynanthus, Columnea) some grow similarly to strawberries (Episcia) and some do form rosettes similar to the violet (many Primulina.) In total I probably have about 60 plants in this family.

Sports memorabilia/autographs: New England Patriots. Grew up in NE.

I'll try to get some later. Fairly large prices so some are hard to get. But I'll post some up later tonight.

We just found an ancient cell phone. And one of those old car phones that you had to carry in a case, it had a chord and everything!

I dont really add to my collections anymore but Ive managed to keep all my baseball cards and comic books.

These days I like to collect old car related stuff. I love old gas station signs, hub caps, oil cans and stuff like that. Anything I can hang on the wall in the garage.

Glad I'm not the only plant collector, though my gesneriad collection is pretty small. My collecting urges vary by month and income, but the main ones that weren't reef related the last few years have been:

Hostas
Dwarf Aloe hybrids
Gesneriads
Tillandsias
Orchids...mostly ladyslipper genera but have tons of oddballs
Killifish from the genus Fundulopanchax
Cryptocorynes and planted aquaria in general
Dart frogs...mostly Ranitomeya and vivariums in general
Plecostomus...mainly Peckoltias and Hypancistrus
There's lots more, but those are the ones that get the most time and funding. Orchids and Tillandsias have been the main ones all my life that all the other hobbies compete with.

Other than that, it's mostly fishing gear to catch huge catfish and Titanium every day carry and survival gear.
