If we would have had these kits back when I was starting I would have been all over it.

Mmmmm? I predict an 80% anemone fail rate. Hope I’m wrong.
I have one, I bought a beautiful bubble tip that did well, but constantly moved. It looked beautiful and bubbly up until it met its untimely demise in my pump. I was super bummed out about it. I will not put another anemone in that tank. If/when I upgrade I may try again. I do really love them.

But if you price out what you get with those tanks, it's a break even. Not a good or a bad deal. I bought it because I was having analysis paralysis. I deviated from their system and put in TBS rock/sand, I have since upgraded the return pump, the light, and the power head. Still, no regrets. It got me started.

At first I was not too enthusiastic, now I feel that the system provides an opportunity for newer hobbyist to successfully keep livestock. The appropriate equipment is provided and adequate educational tools.
Newer hobbyist don't have flail around figuring it out as they go along.

I think that's the benefit of this kit; the equipment has already been selected for you. There's no Hello Reef branded anything, just stock stuff you could purchase yourself (maybe even for less), but for many new to the hobby having this kit is a great way to start.

Going with TBS rock is always a great idea :)

A bit risky that’s all. A clown and a hermit might be a better choice?

You need a tank, Mr. Mayor! Do it!
motivational just do it GIF

You know that episode of SpongeBob when Squidward moved to the Suburbs, and every house looked the same?

It’s got strong dystopian, mass-produced vibes.

I like the tank, and the blade light. The Carib sea rock is terrible, the power head is terrible, the sicce return pump is terrible. There’s no incorporated top off, not even a bottle fill gravity type. No temp controller either.

Would rather have seen it like this
-tank
-blade
-auto top off of sorts
-ioaoi dc controllable return pump
-INKBIRD temp controller with heater
-Marco rock instead of carb sea rock
-buy your own flow pump because the stock one is junk.

It certainly doesn’t have everything that’s needed but it’s marketed well and people will buy it. Not a fan.

They've got a freshwater one as well, the HelloReef GloFish

I added an extra bag of sand, some river rocks, and opted for live plants vs the GloFish plastic plants.
