They work well in a tank with other softies. Some types will overgrow everything.

I like them, but probably won't buy more unless I want a pop of a specific color in a certain place. I have good success with them for the most part, but it seems like many of them have a "season". They will do great for 6 months or a year, then just melt.

I like them. If possible, I would keep them on their own island. A big colony on an isolated rock looks really nice. Tons of colors to choose from. They grow quickly too.

I reckon a tank dedicated to zoas could look beautiful, if I could isolate them on the back wall I would 100% do a Zoanthid wall in my nano.

I’ve never been a fan of Zoas and will probably never have any in my tank. I feel they function are “filler” on low flow/bottom areas, but I’d honestly rather do GSP or Pulsing Xenia.

I’m a fan. When I started keeping coral in the mid 90’s it was a lot of the same stuff. Most of the zoas were dragon eyes or watermelons. Flash forward to the mid 00’s and you were seeing rastas, bam bams, blue hornets etc pop up for the first time and they were gorgeous. Fast forward to now where you have all these legacy strains and all of these new ones being collected and arriving in the hobby. It’s pretty awesome. While zoas will melt you, you don’t necessarily have to worry about them morphing or browning out in the same way as acros.

So I like them but how do you keep them concentrated in one spot. I don't like them that much that they spread like wild fire. That's what is keeping me from getting them. There is some that look amazing .. anyways thanks

They're pretty, but I mostly don't like them as eventually they start growing into SPS. Some can be extremely aggressive and hard to remove like aiptasia. They still occupy some areas in my tank that I can't scrape them out of, but I did manage to remove one that was a nightmare. I suppose if I had a zoo only tank they would be OK.

I hate that I can keep LPS, SPS, and shrooms alive and growing but those little colorful buttons are all "haha no."
Seriously, the “easy” coral, and always the primo ones. I am down to iodine dosing to see if that makes a difference.
