For the past two days I have been home sick from school. My 10 gal is in my room and I love watching my clown, Krusty move around the tank. I noticed that he loves going around pecking and "sniffing" at the rock. Its just so cute to watch.

Watchman: Perches on a rock or toadstool
Clowns and Firefish: Swim around the tank doing whatever fish do

Emperor angelfish: Gets into trouble by pecking at palythoas ... gets back out by devouring majanos.

Regal, majestic & flame angels: Peck at the rock and at nori on clips. Under evening blue lights, rise toward the surface to dance together.

Watanabe angel: Hits the nori, but leaves the rock alone. Eats anything she thinks she sees at the surface, ingesting air bubbles which come out later, at the other end of the fish.

Purple, Indian Ocean squaretail, yellow and kole tangs: Graze the rock and bang at the nori clip.

Quoy's parrotfish: Hits the rock, not the coral, smashes the nori clip. Moves fast across the tank.

Midas blenny: Slithers through the water column or tucks into the rocks.

Tailspot blennies: Tap away at the rocks and glass, tiff with one another.

Fairy wrasses: Cruise open water or pretend they're looking for 'pods on the rocks.

Mandarin pair: Actually look for 'pods on the rocks. Male flashes fancy fins at the female, especially in the evening.

Copperband butterfly fish: Probe for 'pods and Aiptasia on the rocks, examining each carefully.

Banggai cardinalfish: Hang in the water column, pretty far away from one another. After dark, they dash about devouring what they can or tussle with each other.

Aurora and orange-spot gobies: Attend to their pistol shrimp, occasionally rise to take something from the water column - including drifting shreds of nori.

Royal grammas: Hover with their bellies to the rock, in whatever orientation, sometimes flash open mouths to each other ... now that the female has made a reappearance!

Azure damselfish: Defend their favorite rock, court one another, snap particles from the water column.

Percula clownfish: Guard and tend their current plaque of eggs.

I might have missed some, but . . . yeah.

~B.

Clowns: hang out on their rock. Hang out vertically along the glass. Hang out vertically in other places. Just.. hang out.

Goby: take mouthfuls of sand and throw it all over my zoas. When I go to turkey baster it off, attack the turkey baster. Rinse and repeat.

Swissguard Basslet: sulk around pretending to be a shark. Also eat my hermit crabs.

Yellow tang: golden retriever energy. Constantly moving, checking in on other fish in the tank. Snack breaks occasionally. And stare at me when I approach the tank with what I can only describe as a Derek Zoolander blue steel expression.

Goofy little buggers, the lot of them.

Mine are always up to something fishy...

I remember being sick during High School and LOVED staying home. Only problem was, during my senior year, I skipped a lot. Most classes had a limit of 15 days. Except one. Mrs. Weinheimer's class. She put it at 10. I had 9 absences. And then I got Mono. Down for a week. Had to go to her class sicker than a dog. Back then, no one really cared about coming to school sick. It was the early 80's!!!!

My lone clownfish patrols her 2 homes; the Toadstool and the wavemaker. My CJ Goby tends to his burrow, usually taking mouthfuls of sand the the opposite side of the take. Then he sifts the sand and pecks at the rocks. When he gets near the clown's toadstool rock she follows him probably swearing at him until he's as far from the rock as he can be. Rinse and repeat.

When you're old enough, every thread is a dad joke thread.
LOL, I suppose so......I'm a big fan of Dad Jokes and bad puns. The trick to the delivery is to laugh like an idiot, then explain why it was funny. Loudly!

My clowns go into the duncan then the frogspawn ( ticks them off) then the gsp and repeat. Diamond watchman goby filters sand all day. Yellow corris wrasse hunts pods. Tailspot blenny hangs in his hole in the rock watching for trouble and ready to spring into action at any sign of trouble. Yellow tail damsel and royal gramma swim around oblivious to everything.
