The name of my tank is Marilyn's Mansion and Marilyn (Masked Spinefoot) normally swims back and forth across the tank with a little wiggle at each end. She was the first fish and my favorite overall. So much personality...she looks for me through the day and I can walk up and she will greet me. Weirdly, she "encourages" me to pet her. She will swim by and rub across my fingers with the side of her body. I dont move bc I dont want to be scare her accidentally where she might sting me, but she seems to enjoys it.
Ruby - Red Hawkfish - Messed with everyone and is the biggest busy-body in the tank besides my Auriga. Always lurking upside down or sideways on the glass
-Auriga Butterfly swims with Marilyn when he's not trying to be the tang police
-Absinthe - Bluespot Puffer, flits about and pecks at oyster shells and the rocks
-Toby, the OWG opens his hole up and does a little cleaning for half the day, then goes and messes with Goldie, the Goldenhead Sleeper Goby. Goldie, messes back and it's all pretty tame.
-Brutus, my ~10in Twin Spot Wrasse spends the day flipping oyster shells and picking at the rocks.
-Doc - Red Coris Wrasse mostly just picks at the rocks, but once in a while he will go hang out in a certain corner of the tank and Marilyn will swim over and chill for a min. Then she flexes all her spines out and opens her mouth. She also turns almost completely white and these black spots on her head turn red. It's wild to watch...might post a video one day. Anyway, that's the cue for Doc to check her out and pick at anything on her.
-Melanie - Melanaurus Wrasse just swims about all day waiting on a bite...literally never closes his mouth, just swims around with it open 24/7
-Chiquita - Yellow Wrasse spends the day looking for things to peck at and has been voted most likely to die from jumping although the only one that has ever gotten out was Toby the goby. Jumped up 2 feet from the bottom of the tank, out the top that I had moved aside for cleaning, about about 6inches above the tank, then fell 5.5 feet down to the floor. Knocked himself out, but woke up and went right back to his hole when I put him back in.
-The Clownies - Named after the townies in the Sims games. 5 Darwin clowns...3 are a group and then another set has paired off although they do sometimes join the group of 3, esp at night to sleep. Not 1 of them is remotely interested in the RBTA, fyi.
Popeye the Coral Beauty was injured in a fight and nearly lost her eye and is now mostly blind in it, so she swims about, but keeps her left side close to a rock or wall so nothing can sneak up on her
-Jelly - purple/orchid dottyback - just hangs out...doesnt mess with anything or any one. She temporarily made friends with a Copperband and would try to protect it from the Auriga. Now she just chills and waits for a bite.
-Krusty - Clown Trigger model tank mate so far. He was about the size of a nickel when I put him in...hes about 3 inches now and I expect he will be the king of the tank, but he hasnt been forceful, the other fish just seem to know.
-Sailfin and Blue Eye Tang pick at the glass and pull hair algae out to get at the film stuff.
-6-line - smallest guy in the tank by far and he still tries to push others around, but doesnt get very far
-Flotsam and Jetsam - 2 Black Sailfin Blennies that keep to themselves, but make the effort every morning and evening to swim over to each other and fight for a few mins. Mostly just posturing and it's funny af.
-Porcupine Puffer - never see him except for feeding time, but I can hand feed him and that's fun. Creepy dude that usually has one blue eye poking out of a hole in the rocks.
-Dog Faced Puffer - new guy and is still small...like 3 inches or so. Working on hand feeding him too. Every morning he wakes up and after a few, will ingest water and puff himself up as much as he can, then slowly let most of it out. I think he is stretching his skin/body as he grows? Anyway, it's cool to watch
-Last, but not least...Chocula! Powder Brown tang was a model citizen until I added the sailfin. Chocula just wouldnt let it go and was starting to hurt the sailfin, so Choc went out to the garage sump and she seems to love it. I hand feed her like twice a day. She eats nori and frozen mysis from my fingers! I think that's all the main cast!
