I second the tailspot blenny! (Or most any blenny) They have great subtle coloration and awesome personality.

A fish that seems to be overlooked is the Neon Dottyback (Pseudochromis aldabraensis). When mature and happy they are stunning and their personality and constant interaction with the reefs nooks and crannies is so cool. In that group they seem to get overlooked for the Orchid dottyback IMO

Sharknose gobies. I have two in a nano tank and they have tremendous personality. Mine love to zoom over to the magnetic scraper when I use it and ride along. They always follow me around when I’m near the tank and attach to my fingers when working in the tank.

I would say lantern basslets. Beautiful fish, tons of personality. I love mine.

I watched him eat my new hector’s goby whole just this morning so I am understandably a bit ambivalent about the lantern basslet right now. But, you know, they’re cool.

The Spanish hogfish is a great reef fish for bigger tanks. Peaceful, non-confrontational, always out in the open, live forever, etc
Wow! I will have to look into those fish whenever I upgrade to a bigger tank!
