So a friend of mine has been having a bad infestation of red flatworms. Are there any fish out there that can take care of this problem without having to add harsh chemicals?

Yellow Coris Wrasse! they eat them, mine eats flatworms, bristle worms, feather worms, spaghettie worms, copepods, limpets, abalone snails, the list goes on and on. They are more peaceful than a 6line imo and they do a better job and eating little critters too, imo!

A mandarin will also eat fw's

Yup, the first fish I thought of was a 6 line, but they are aggressive. Mine was taken out and he's in his own tank for right now. I'd give him to you if you were close :)

Here is the problem as I see it, he has a bad infestation of flat worms. How long is it going to take 1 fish to knock down the population of a pest that has 3-7 yolksacs per egg and 26ish eggs per clutch???? I used FW exit and let the Wrasses get any new ones that escape the treatment.

A yellow damsel will take care of the flatworm problem but will turn into an evil devil fish.

He's in the process of using a FW treatment (not sure what kind). It's worked for him in the past but I'm sure it's the eggs that keep hatching. I'm gonna tell him to get 2 Mystery Wrasse and hopefully they'll be able to get any eggs that hatch

Damsels of the genus Chrysiptera eat flatworms. C. springeri is my go to for the job.
