I have a regular old red monti cap I thought I had killed, on purpose. I scraped it all off the rock, flipped the rock upside down so no light got to it.

Fast forward about 6 months, and low and behold the thing is still alive and now growing up my back glass. Has almost 0 flow, and next to nothing for light(25 par). Yet the things continues to grow.

I liken monti caps to GSP. Hard to kill, and can pretty much grow in any condition.

This is when I removed it from my tank:

And now after I thought I got rid of it all growing up my back glass:

This is crazy...
I once got a frag from a friend and the cap just bleached and I thought it has died.
Then I placed it somewhere in my tank as algae began to grow on that dead skeletton...
Not, after a few weeks there is ONE little like maybe 1cm big corner from that frag which starts to grow.
The dead skeletton I placed on the sandbed and put some GSP on it as "rock" to grow on for the GSP.

Like I said, theres almost no light and it still starts to grow to the air
I'm very confused about the point here. Did the piece still grow
