Hello All hope everyone had a great holiday!
I am looking for decent Ato I wanted to see if anyone know of any of these?
1st …. JBJ ATO NANO
2nd …. XP AQUA DUETTO 2 ATO
3rd …. ICE CAP ATO EZ
Any advice will be greatly appreciated

XP and Tunze are the most reliable imo. Every brand has its own issues and people tend to share negatives not positives. I have used both and still use XP in my wife’s nano tank. I personally use versa to top off with kalk 24/7 if you want to consider something else.

Ive used the Tunze Nano ato for almost 10 years now. I have to say they are simple, inexpensive compared to other brands, reliable and regardless of tank size you can still use it. Our oldest Tunze nano is on a 200g system and still going strong after 5 years. However, in full disclosure, the pumps do have a problem after a couple of years. For some reason they just quit turning on and off via the Tunze controller. I normally keep my ato on a power switch controller for easy on and off access during water changes. Once the pump starts acting up you have to turn the switch off and back on to reset the pump and it will work for a day or two and then stop being controlled again until you turn the switch off and on again. So, what I did to remedy this is to plug the ato into my apex controller. Then I set up an advanced controller string…..
Fallback OFF
OSC 030:00/005:00/025:00 Then ON

So now, that ato outlet stays off. And every 30 minutes the apex will turn that outlet on for 5 minutes (giving the ato time to fill) and then shut the outlet off again. It works flawlessly this way and allows you to get a couple more years of work out if your Tunze nano ato;)

Tunze 3155 not the nano version. The nano has a single float switch while the other uses an optical sensor. The optical sensor is much more precise and less likely to fail. Just needs to be checked periodically for cleaning.

Have had one running on my tank for years and never had any problems.

There is a safety timer on all tunzes to limit the pump run time. If the pump runs for too long, 2 minutes?, the controller disables the pump until power is recycled.
This prevents emptying your ato reservoir into the tank in the event of a sensor failure.

I’m well aware of the timer limit. If you closely read what I described, it’s not a time limit issue. The pump will quit accepting power. I don’t believe it’s tied to the controller of the ato either. If you replace the pump (which I have done on several units) then it goes back to working properly.
